🔧 1. Overheating of GPU and/or VRM

Cause: dried out thermal paste, dirty heatsink, poor cooling.

Symptoms:

Throttling (frequency reduction)

Blue screen (BSOD)

Shutdown under load

Solution: cleaning, replacing thermal paste and thermal pads, flashing BIOS with lower limits.

⚡ 2. Failure of MOSFET or chokes in the power supply

Cause: aging, voltage surges, long-term operation in mining.

Symptoms:

Does not turn on, 0 fan rotation

BIOS indicator blinks

The board heats up when power is supplied

Solution: diagnostics with a multimeter, replacement of power elements (PWM, mosfet).

🧠 3. Video memory errors (GDDR5)

Cause: memory failure/overheating, power or controller issues.

Symptoms:

Artifacts on the screen

Driver failure ("video driver has been restored...")

Black screen when installing the driver

Solution: reballing/replacing memory chips, checking Vmem power supply.

🔌 4. BIOS firmware is damaged

Cause: unsuccessful overclocking, BIOS modification, abnormal failure.

Symptoms:

Black screen when turning on

Not detected in the system

Solution: re-flashing the original BIOS via a programmer or from a spare card.

🔋 5. Power controller (PWM) malfunctions

uP9511P, IR3567B, etc. often fail.

Symptom: RX 580 does not start, short circuit on VCore

🧊 6. Fans do not work or make noise

Bearing wear, poor contact.

Solution: replace or clean, or install new fans.

🧪 Useful utilities for diagnostics:

• GPU-Z – voltage and temperature monitoring
• OCCT, FurMark – stress tests
• VRAM test – memory error check
• Multimeter + (BoardView) – hardware diagnostics
