Main malfunctions and breakdowns of Bosch refrigerators

The refrigerator compartment does not work at all or the temperature is higher than normal

The evaporator heating element is faulty - this failure is typical for Bosch refrigerators with a No Frost freezing system. The heating element of the evaporator is located in the freezer, therefore, if the heater is faulty, defrosting does not occur and the evaporator is covered with a heavy layer of frost.

The solution to the problem is to replace the evaporator heater with a new one.

Thermostat failure - This happens because the thermostat does not give the required command and does not stop cooling. Thus, the refrigerator compartment does not receive cooling, and the freezer ends up with a large layer of snow and ice. In this case, you will need to replace the thermostat.

Freon leakage - it can occur due to mechanical damage to the circuit, at joints, or the drainage system is clogged. If such a breakdown occurs, the refrigerator will need to be refilled with freon.

The fan motor burned out - such a breakdown is typical only for Bosch refrigerators with a No Frost freezing system. The fan that blows cold air into the refrigerator compartment may fail. If such a breakdown occurs, the fan motor should be replaced.

An unnaturally loud noise is heard when the refrigerator is operating

Compressor wear - this breakdown is typical of older models of refrigerators that have been in operation for a long time. It is not the compressor itself that wears out, but its individual parts, most often the pistons and their rings. In this case, a loud hum may be heard when the compressor operates,

It is necessary to adjust the shock absorbers - during its operation, the compressor not only produces a sound of a certain power, but also vibrates. To prevent these vibrations from creating additional noise, the compressor is equipped with shock absorbers. Accordingly, if the shock absorbers are weakened, compressor vibrations can create additional noise

The fan makes noise - this malfunction is typical for Bosch refrigerators with a No Frost freezing system. The fan located in the freezer compartment makes noise. If the noise from it becomes loud, most likely, a layer of ice has formed around, and the fan is catching it with its blades.

The freezer compartment does not work well or does not work at all

The air sensor is faulty - it is located in the freezer. If a faulty sensor is detected, it no longer transmits information to the control unit about the temperature status in the freezer.

The solenoid valve is faulty - a breakdown that is typical for refrigerators with a dry freezing system. In this case, the valve does not switch to cooling the freezer chamber and continues to work to cool the entire unit and all its chambers.

Freon leak – a freon leak can also cause a freezer malfunction. In this case, the temperature in the freezer may be higher than normal or the freezer may not work at all.
