The most common mistakes:

  • type E (E05, E16);
  • type P (P02, P08, P10).

It follows from the table that when they appear on the front part:

  • the alarm indicator lights up;
  • on the segment - error code.

Each brand has its own error code display. The line of models is quite versatile and they are identical in their functional characteristics. The most popular models include:

  • MP230;
  • MP250;
  • MP270;
  • MP280;
  • MG3240;
  • MG2440.

Problems can occur even with proven devices of the MP and MG series:

  • The device does not pick up paper;
  • The thermal film has failed;
  • Mechanical failure (paper jam);
  • Blurred image (print head failure);
  • Difficulty moving paper.

Troubleshooting Error 5200

One of the common errors is error code 5200. It is displayed if the ink is out, the cartridge is faulty, or there is a problem with the printer. Troubleshooting steps:

Disconnect the device from the network. Press and hold the “Stop / Reset” key and the power key (POWER) simultaneously;

While holding down the power key, release the Stop/Reset key, after the power-on LED lights up, press the Stop/Reset key twice;

Release both keys simultaneously;

Wait until the indicator lights up green. Such flickering “indicates” that the printing device is in the service system;

Then press the “Stop / Reset” key four times and turn off the printer.

Error 5100

There are several reasons for the error:

  • Breakage and contamination of the encoder with ink;
  • Moving the carriage;
  • Presence of obstacles (CISS cable, paper clips, etc.) in the movement of the carriage.

Error B200

B200 is a service error. Caused by a problem with the print head, power supply or control board. Activities related to eliminating the problem:

  • Turn off the printer for an hour;
  • Power cable - disconnect;
  • Open the lid;
  • Remove the white foam or orange protective tape;
  • Check whether the print head is clogged with third-party objects (buttons, pieces of paper, paper clips);
  • If necessary, delete;
  • Close the lid;
  • Turn on the device.

Error E16

If the printer cannot recognize the cartridges being used, error code E16 appears. This means that the ink has run out.

Change the ink cartridge;

Turn off ink level monitoring, hold down the “Resume/Cancel” button for more than five seconds, then release

Error E05

The print head is not installed or is installed incorrectly. Eliminating such errors requires specific knowledge and special equipment.

Reset ink counter Canon Printer

To reset the ink counter in Canon printers, you need to perform a series of sequential steps, but not every user can cope with this time-consuming process. It is important to know! All operations are performed in service mode; after logging in, the warranty on the device is canceled. In addition to a clear number of button presses (depending on the Canon series), you also need to maintain an appropriate rhythm between them, take into account indicators and other factors. This manipulation is performed only if there is one hundred percent confidence in one’s abilities. To get the printer working again, you need to reset the ink counter:

  • Disable the printing device;
  • While holding down the “Resume” key, press the “Power” key (the indicator should flash green);
  • Squeeze the “Power” key and release the “Resume” key;
  • Without releasing the “Power” key, press the “Resume” key 2 times and release both buttons at once;
  • Press the “Resume” key 4 times;
  • To confirm the selected operation (resetting the “diaper” counter), press the “Power” key once;
  • Press the “Power” key again;
  • Turn off the printing device.

How to reset all errors on a Canon printer?

  • Unplug the printer.
  • Press and hold the “Start/Power” and “Stop/Reset” buttons for more than 5 seconds.
  • Connect the printing device to the network and only then release the printer power button.
  • When the test page starts printing, press the Stop button.
