Bosch Refrigerator Error codes list

Error codes are not indicated in the instructions for Bosch refrigerators - the manufacturer believes that ordinary users do not need them and equipment repairs should be carried out by professionals.

Therefore, when strange symbols appear on the display instead of temperature, owners have nowhere to look for reliable information and it is easier to call a refrigerator repairman. We also provide error codes for Bosch refrigerators only for informational purposes - if an error appears on the display, then most likely you cannot do without the help of a mechanic.

Bosch error codes without display

In Bosch refrigerators without a display, codes are not indicated - errors are indicated by a flashing temperature value. Often the error is accompanied by an intermittent or constant beep.

The LED flashes in three cases:

  • When you turn on the device, until the temperature inside has dropped.
  • When loading large quantities of warm food.
  • When the door is open for a long time.
  • If the appliance breaks down and the refrigerator cannot maintain the required temperature.

If the error signal does not disappear when the door is closed, the device needs to be inspected and diagnosed. It is not possible to accurately determine the problem by the blinking LED on the panel.

Bosch error codes on more complex panels

If the control panel is more informative, the error is indicated by the alarm signal. In such models, the sound can be turned off by pressing the same button, but the light will go out only when the temperature inside returns to normal.

In this arrangement, it is possible to check in hardware whether there is a malfunction in the system. To do this, turn off the refrigerator for 10 minutes, then turn it on and press the alarm button or the settings and °C button at the same time and wait for a long sound signal. When the automatic check is completed, the device emits short signals: two means that everything is in order, five means that the equipment has found a breakdown. But the display does not show a specific fault.

Common Bosch fault codes for refrigerators with digital displays

The manufacturer produces several types of refrigerators with digital temperature display.

There are other versions, but in all cases the digital temperature image can show fault signals. Bosch technology uses standard designations:

Codes are only displayed on models that have these sensors and systems.

ERROR CODE DESCRIPTION WHAT TO DO?

Inscription

LOCK

The lock for changing settings is enabled.

1. This function prevents accidental pressing of the refrigerator buttons while you are away.

2. To remove the lock, you must read the instructions for your refrigerator model.

The + button

is lit

The temperature inside rises for no apparent reason.

1. Check the refrigerator for cold leaks from under the door.

2. The temperature sensor may have failed.

Inscription ALL/AU System warning Alarm OFF.

1. The temperature in the freezer is elevated.

2. Diagnosis and elimination of the cause of the malfunction is required.

The number 4

Damage to the door cable.

1. Check if the door may have been previously re-positioned and the cable was not secured correctly.

2. Tighten the connections, replace the cable or part.

h0 / ho /НО The No-Frost defrost system is damaged.

1. The thermostat may not be working.

2. They also check the defrost heating element.

EA200 The pressure level sensor is faulty.

1. The pressure sensor in the engine needs to be replaced.

2. Contact customer service.

Error 01 Damage to the control module. 1. Contact the service center to repair the control module.
Error 15 Damage to the control module. 1. Contact the service center to repair the control module.
Error 06 The door is not closed tightly. 1. The error may occur due to a faulty door close sensor.
Error E20 There is no communication between the control unit and the display module.

1. Check the electrical wiring.

2. The EEPROM chip may need to be replaced.

Е1/R1 The temperature sensor in the refrigerator compartment has failed.

1. Check the sensor, its contacts and wiring.

2. Tighten the connections, replace the cable or part.

Е2 The evaporator sensor in the refrigerator compartment is faulty.

1. In this case, the temperature in the chamber may rise, and ice and snow will form on the walls.

2. Perform diagnostics and install a new sensor.

Е3/F1 The temperature sensor in the freezer does not give a signal.

1. The sensor informs the control board about the temperature in the chamber, after which the compressor turns off.

2. Therefore, if it breaks, you should urgently replace the element.

Е4 Error E4 indicates that the condenser sensor in the freezer is broken. 1. Inspect connections and check functionality. Repair.
РТ The electronic module is not working correctly. One of its elements is faulty.

1. You need to diagnose the module and test the parts with a multimeter. A visual inspection will help determine the location of the burns.

2. It is better to entrust repairs to a specialist.

D1 The sensor on the rib has failed. 1. Testing the control module and replacing the sensor.
DR

The door sensor has tripped. The following reasons are likely:

1. The cell door is not closed tightly.

2. The door hinges have sagged and it does not fit well to the body.

3. The rubber seal is worn out or dirty.

Options to solve the problem:

1. Close the door more tightly.

2. Tighten the hinge fastenings.

3. Clean or change the sealing rubber.

DF The freezer door open/close switch does not operate.

1. Open and close the door again. Check the switch connections and install a new part.

2. During prolonged use, the key sinks or sticks in the socket. Therefore, the module cannot determine whether the door is open or not.

EF The flow sensor or solenoid valve is not functioning. 1. Diagnose and repair the fault.
ET The horizontal switch does not work. 1. The switch needs to be replaced.
EC The on/off key is stuck.

1. Inspect the key.

2. If it is stuck or stuck, install a new element.

ES The ice/water switch lever does not work. 1. Diagnostics of contacts, wiring and the lever itself.
EA The freezer motor does not work.

1. You need to check the motor for functionality.

2. If there are no signs of “life”, replacement is carried out.

EG The inlet valve does not work.

1. This is probably the valve that allows water into the ice maker.

2. If the latter is provided in your model, then inspect the valve.

AL Lights up in some models along with the alarm button. Indicates an increase in temperature in the compartment.

Advice. Sometimes the refrigerator accidentally goes into display or vacation mode. In holiday mode, the refrigerator compartment does not cool, but the freezer operates as usual. In the demo, only the display is active - it is needed to show the functions. Typically, to turn off the demonstration, you need to press and hold the alarm button or the “setup + °C” combination and wait for a beep. The “Holiday” mode is disabled with the holiday button.
