🔌 1. Video memory (VRAM) failure
Symptoms: artifacts, blue screens, driver crashes.
Cause: GDDR5 memory chips degradation due to overheating or poor cooling.
🌡️ 2. GPU overheating
Especially in models with one fan and a weak radiator.
Leads to throttling, overheating of power circuits and possible failure.
⚡ 3. VRM (power section) failures
Symptoms: unstable operation, failures under load, black screen.
Some boards did not have thermal protection, which led to overheating of chokes and MOSFETs.
💀 4. GPU (BGA) peeling off from the PCB
A problem with older cards: microcracks from temperature changes (requires reballing/warming up).
Especially common in cards without reinforced radiator fixation.
