Nvidia GTX 960 Common Problems
Overheating
- Often caused by dust in the cooling system, old thermal paste or a low-quality cooler.
- Some versions from Zotac and Gigabyte had a weak cooling system on early revisions.
Artifacts and image failures
- Video memory (VRAM) problem, more common in budget models that save on components.
- Often found in Palit and Inno3D models, where lower-quality memory chips were used.
Power phase failure (VRM)
- Some boards on weak PCBs (printed circuit boards) overheat or fail when overclocked.
- Especially affects models from KFA2/Galax and Manli (Asian brands).
Black screen / no signal
- Can be caused by damage to the GPU or BIOS - more often in cards that have been mined or reflashed.
Driver Issues
